Crop or full frame? Lots of time when I had a crop camera, very little on a full frame. I like the 50 better on the full frame. I must be in the minority here. I sold it and picked up the f2 for the very few times I want that focal lenght. I can take the 50 or 85 out on my camera and leave the rest of the kit at home, never did that with the 35.

I use my 35L a lot as a single lens walk-around and for lower light shots. It takes very sharp pictures and I like to pair it with my 135L.
+1: Love it under low light conditions for landscape photography. Under regular light I still prefer my 24/3.5 T/S lens.
I can't justify a 35L but have a Samyang 35mm f/1.4 (use with 5D II). Exposure isn't a problem but MF is and I don't have the AF confirm chip. For focus, other than "winging it" I use live view or connect to a 10" tegra 2 Android tablet via USB. I have an upcoming shoot - an advertisement, exterior restaurant, and will use that over my 17-40L since the Samyang has better corner sharpness.
Used to use it all the time on crop, but with full frame, I prefer the 50/1.4 . But all the comments here are making me try reaching for it more often though! The colors and contrast with it are certainly better than the 50/1.4
Unfortunately I don't use it as much as I probably should. I am often too hesitant to grab it when I only take 1 lens (and use the 24-105 for convenience instead)...
...BUT whenever I use it it blows me away. The focal length on FF is useful, and the bokeh is brilliant. I love this lens!
