I never start this stuff because I "want us all to just get along" , and taking pictures is all it is about for me. I didn't go in to the Canon area and rub it in their noses about the AF issues with the "little wonder" and Mr Getchel and Arka , are good guys with opinions and I like that , ! But since I have an idea about this little D100 now having shot over 25,000 images with it , and some are pretty good that specs tell so little of the story , but I should just keep my mouth shut

yeah all the real big guns will be shooting slides for a very long time to come!
Oh don't even get me started on the one button vs two button w/ scroll wheel debacle. I love Macs, but when will Steve learn that, while we appreciate simplcity, the majority of pro mac users are both capable of using, and desirous of a mouse that has more than one button. Why do I have to go out and promptly replace the mouse that comes with my computer because it sucks? We already pay a premium for nicer computers, and OSCX supports multi-button mice!

Well when you invent the mouse , I guess you can make it any way you want to !
Just to clarify, Apple/Mac et al did NOT "invent" the mouse. It was invented many years prior by Xerox at their PARC before the first "Apple" plywood box was conceived.

of course you are right , I was only speaking in context of something "joe consumer" could buy. , no one ever had a PARC box
To return to a point made earlier in this string, why is everyone so down on plastic bodies? I bought my N80, the body on which the D100 is based, over two years ago, largely because of Galen Rowel's recommendations in Outdoor Photographer. As he pointed out, metal bends, plastic rebounds. And remember, this isn't your father's plastic, it a very high-tech composite. Airframes on military fighters are now made of "plastic".
My N80 travels everywhere with me, and I don't own a padded case. I hike, climb, and ski with this little camera in an unpadded chest pack, and it get it's fair share of abuse, including high-speed encounters with fixed objects. While I've broken a few filters, bones, and one Bogen tripod leg (metal), I've had NO problems with the "cheap plastic" body.
The Fuji S2 Pro is a hot camera. If anyone is dissatisfied and wants to dump theirs please PM me as I would like a backup body. I'll glady make a home for any 'defective' cameras.
Canon...Fuji...Nikon...the reality is this week one is better than the other but next week's or at least next year's Nikon will be better than this year's...they are constantly improving either the firmware...the software or the hardware and we as photographers are benefitting...each company has it's strong points and probably also it's corresponding weak points however I love my s2...I'm using it for everything from sports to weddings to studio work...I've basically retired a pretty good collection of Hasselblads because it's that good...but I've also spent a good deal of time trying to learn how my camera works....
