No more ducks or flowers from me today. Here's a snapshot from a few days ago at the park.
On my monitor the saturation is a little strong viewing this on the web. I did nothing to the eyes except overall highlight / shadow adjustments in Lightroom. I may have to back down the saturation a little when using "chubby".
Hardcore - The colors and detail of #1 are fantastic (all three are great). I'm considering a TC20E for my 200 f/2 for nature and possibly college football. So #1 couldn't be a "paid" shot? Looks like a wall-hanger for someone for sure?
The end result is what matters. If you need consistent repeatable photos, then the 2x will struggle to deliver. If you are able to take your time at the risk of maybe missing a shot, then the 2x will work well for you.
Hope that helps! I know a lot of people would love to have a 500 f4 vr but can't afford it. This tc is most definitely affordable. There is a lot to be said about that.
Ryankarr, the simple fact that you can see the photographer in the reflection of this beautiful child's eye ... That blew me away. I want to try this with my daughter and my D800 for sure now !!

A shot from Comerica Park, this is a single exposure. I started out with it in LR4 to take advantage of the new amazing shadow adjuster, then I used Nik ColorEfex's Tonal Contrast. I've had my D800 a couple of weeks now and haven't really shot anything worthwhile, until now. This was shot as a gift for my daughter's teacher who is a huge Detroit Tigers fan. I ran a test print on an Epson 2880 with Ilford Smooth Pearl and all I can say is WOW!
