...and my D800 picture of the day is NOT what I had planned.
As the sign said, I yielded to traffic on the left. The car behind me did NOT yield to the car in front of it (me).
No dammage to my car, the Chevy's bumper was messed up.
I've been shooting manual focus lenses for a while. As you may know, I recently purchased a D800 and a 24-70 24-70mm f/2.8G ED AF-S. WOW what fun that combination is.
I was experimenting with focus methods this afternoon. I set the camera on AF-C, single point AF and continuous shooting. When Higgs started running at me I pressed the button. THe camera nailed six pictures! Cool!!!
I have had my D800 for a few weeks now, coming from a D700 & 5D II, I am blown away from its IQ and Res. and Dynamic Range. I feel like it made my Canon 5D II images look like a piles of crap!

Nice! I just picked up the D800/ 24-70G after using Canon cameras. I was initially a little put off by the bulk of the 24-70 but holy cow, it's a great and versatile lens. I keep taking these night shot photos with a tripod and that combo because the files just sing.
And on the plus side, I think my arms are getting a nice workout.

Nice shots! I particularly like the first. I just moved from the 5DII and the DR performance of the D800 is truly impressive. I'm actually a little worried that it might make me lazy as you can pretty heavily botch an image and still get something that looks OK in PP. Though getting the most out of those 36MP has certainly motivated me to start bringing a tripod out more often so I guess it's a wash.
The D800 is relatively new to me (as are all digital Nikons) so I'm still dialing it in. No birds in flight from me, but occasionally they end up in the frame.
