Missed the best shot of all tonight. A kingfisher landed on a brach 10 feet away from me while taking these shots. Perfect lighting on him, but did not have my telephoto!
Ya, I do need an extra body but right now I just can't justify the cost. Maybe a d600 or d700 in the future. Problem with getting a lower tier body is I'd always want to use the d800 for all my shots anyways.

I am wondering if anyone else has had issues with the single focus point not locking on the image. I have been having issues even where there is contrast the focus is searching and hunting not locking in. I want to use this for action photos this weekend and am not sure what to expect. Thanks, Vince
