With something old X-E2S (but new to me) and a brand new Sigma 18-50 f2.8 lens.
Looking east at sunset... (FL = 18mm)
Obligatory sunset shot, theirs, not mine :-) (FL = 50mm)
Shootin' hoops (FL = 18mm)
The new Sigma works quite well with the X-E2S, it's light weight and well balanced, focuses quick, quiet, sharp....A great walk-about/street lens set at 18mm, and when you need to, zooms quick to 50mm, or anywhere in between. I think it's going to be a keeper.
A series taken from a static position on a mountainside from the middle of the wildflower patch. Tried to show the size of the flower patch by zooming out from in tight to wide open. Using Tamron 18-300mm.

Standard film emulation, but the polarizer hypes everything up a bit. Living on the Coast of Maine, where there is always water vapor in the air, dictates the use of a CPL filter most of the time.
I’m so completely blown away by the price to performance ratio of the XF 70-300! Took it out for some test images yesterday and came away with some favorites for the year so far. Very minimal editing and only the vertical bird shot was cropped in a tiny bit. Is the 100-400 sharper? Probably. But at what cost, both weight and price?! The 70-300 can almost act as a macro too, with its relatively close focusing distance.
