When the large flock of dunlin sandpipers were on the ground I slowly approached them and then sat on the sand taking behavioral shots at 840mm (Sigma 150-600 C + Fuji 1.4x). On my X-T3 with the 1.5x crop factor this is a lot of reach allowing for a nice intermate low angle.

These were taken with a new to me Nikon 500mm PF adapted to my Fuji X-T3 with a Fringer Pro II adapter. I was behind a stone wall at the edge of the Hudson Palisades and composing with my LCD. A few hikers watched my screen as I composed and took photos. The first image is cropped from about 1/2 the frame and the second cropped to vertical.

Wow Morris, lovely images. I've had my eye on that combo. Can't wait to see more of your results and hear how your experience goes with them
Thank you,
I've had a full day outing with the combo and I was impressed with the fast focus and nice balance using a gripped X-T3. Battery life was better than with my Sigma 150-600 C and it's not a surprise that IQ and AF is faster. It tracked well with the 1.7x TC. The AF was great for BIF most of the times I wondered why it did not nail the subject. Nothing different than with the 100-400 or 70-300. Contrast is amazing and the over all sharpness reminds me of the Fuji 90mm f2, so it's a delight. For portraits like these, I never missed focus.
Enjoying the cherry blossom & testing the Viltrox 56mm f1.4 in challenging conditions. Quite a bit of CA, but I still think it's a good value for money
