They had the balance bars on the rotors back then also..

Yeah we retired most of those years ago, but there were 3-4 a couple years back in a rescue unit out west last I heard.

When I got over seas I was in a composite squadron HMM 165. And we were CH-46's D models, CH-53s, Hueys 1Ns and Cobras. When I got to HMM 165 they had just switched from UH-1Es (single engine)..Marine Corps Aviation loves redundancy thus the dual engine Ns.
