It was a beautiful summer day and I was out photographing birds on Long Island when I saw the spray in the distance. I waited for the jet ski to get close and then took a burst as he approached and another as he passed.
It's not the 16 1.4, but I can usually get it to work for me, might also be some cropping as well. I can never really remember what I've done to an image a month after editing it. amci4 wrote:
Damn, I had no idea you could focus that close with that lens. I was thinking it was one of the 16mm prime lenses.
XPro3 Canon 100-400 II w/ Fringer EF-FXPro II adapter 1.7 firmware. It's a gray day in Philly at the time of this picture. Distance to the graffiti'd wall I'd estimate about 1mi straight on. Only post was LR 9.3 "dehaze" and "level." No in-camera color adjustments. No challenge to the AF ito capture/accuracy having focused on the wall. I'll try it KPHL since planes are beginning to fly; alternately, I can wait until about 1830 hours when the asshole yutes begin to circle Eakins oval at high rates of speed. Hmm, sounds like a better test. Downside: this is one heavy beast, but not significantly more so in terms of my felt experience of it compared to the Fuji version.
Just got my 7Artisans 35 1.2. Tiny lens given the speed.

Recently picked up a Fuji XT2 for a song. It was sold as non-functional, but when I was inspecting it, I noticed that the ribbon cable had been cut to the rear LCD. I had seen a video on YouTube on this issue and in that video, the user had the same other issues as the unit I was looking at. So I took a chance on it. Took it apart and found that all the ribbon cables except one had come loose. I plugged them all in (except the LCD as it was damaged) and I have a functioning camera! I did forget to look at the port where the LCD goes in to make sure that the cable lock is still there...but I can still do my $200 challenge that I had been doing with my $100 Fuji XE1. I got the body for $50.
How do you think the AF-C works with the 400 DO II with and without the 1,4x teleconverter? Is it good enough for BIF? Big birds? Smaller birds?
Have you tried the Fringer with the 2x converter? Together with that teleconverter it is not on Fringers tested and optimized list. But maybe the AF-S is working?
