I don't have much to say about these. Just some Butterflies from the Science Center taken in January. I haven't gotten a whole lately around here so I thought I would change the pace with some bugs
Wow bro that opener is a stunner I get the feeling this aint no easy task
You could have stopped at #2 Tim, that is a freaking amazing entomology study subject and a gorgeous image!! The BG for #3 compliments so nicely and the wing detail and color are sweet. #4 looks like a big fella and a cool leathery look to it's wings Killer exposure for 5 buddy and the red/black combo is beautiful. 6 looks like he's guzzlin the stuff and more sweet wing pattern! DOF for miles is very pleasing for the last frame bro and amazing slate color.
No noise at 1600.......yeah that's brother Kuhn shootin folks
Nice set, Tim. These little guys are tougher to shoot like this than people think. You've got me with the checkerboard eyes -
A couple of nits. The fourth - at least for me - begs for a portrait comp, with some space below to heighten the drama. I might even give up some detail to get that if the space below allowed.
Second, I thought I could see flash in these, and when i looked at the EXIF, it was there. From your shutter speed, it's obviously required. Could you have bounced it to lessen the direct flash quality.
Like I said, tiny nits. I should get this lucky when the butterflies come to our local botanical garden in August -
Outstanding work my man!
I knew that Siggy would give you some joy. Super comps on all of these Tim. Love the color, DOF and details throughout this series.
These were really a treat to view Tim, I am really impressed with the separation you got and the colors are gorgeous! Really tough to pick a favorite out of these, so I won't
Really nice work
Larry
A great collection of butts Tim, and nice looking ones at that. These are not always that easy to shoot, but you've done well with the DOF and getting the wings parallel to the sensor plane.
