I cannot speak for your respective order, but my long-time experience with big demand items from Amazon has always been that you will get the "Estimated Delivery" email and status on the website and then if/when they "miss" the "estimated shipping date" you wil get another email stating "Temporarily Out of Stock" and that they will notify you when it ships. They don't charge your card until it ships though.
I bought my Nikon 70-200 VRII and my D3s from them when they were "hot" items and this was exactly the way those purchases played out. I got them within a month or two after getting the initial teaser "Estimated Delivery" email and status on their website.

I ordered mine during the second pre-order window, prior to Amazon putting up the notice that they had sold through their initial allocation. I was hopeful I snuck in and would get one at release, but I knew there was a good chance I would have to wait.
Same. And since I've had Amazon match the gold box special pricing I'm in it for the long haul until it ships. We'll see, still holding out hope that I'll see it this week but prepared for a wait if needed.

Dang Andy - any NR or post on those? (seems like you normally don't use either for these kinds of posts)
Nothing.
NR turned off in Camera. Turned off in CNX2 (to avoid NR at high ISO). resized. Saved in JPEG.
rgds,
Andy
Today is 3/26, and the Amazon delivery schedule still shows 3/23-3/27. Hasn't even shipped yet, so I'm expecting to see Bezos in my driveway sometime tomorrow
My Amazon order says 26-30, with standard shipping, and it also hasn't shipped.. I think our dates will be changed and we won't see the cameras till mid-end April.
Hopefully that isn't the case, but seems likely we'll be waiting a while.
I finally got my d4 from amazon last night... for some reason when I preordered it, the shipping speed was defaulted to standard shipping even though I'm prime. CHECK YOUR ORDERS!!
I was happy to find that mine did come with the xqd card/reader but I don't know how long sony will be including those for d4's so I don't want to mislead anyone into thinking they will always come with them.
Since I had to pick it up from UPS last night, I had no time to take any test shots or anything as the battery had to be charged.
Comparing it to my d3s, it seems to feel slightly better in my hand, though I never had any complaints about the d3s. It seems a tiny bit lighter. Another thing to note is the buttons feel different. I'm not quite sure how to describe it but when you press them, you get more of a positive feeling. I also like the dual mini "joystick nubs" which is similar to what you find on upper level canon bodies, but the benefit is the d4 has one for the normal and vertical positions. So far, in terms of handling, the only thing that kinda throws me off is the vertical AF on button. Its placed a bit further in than I am use to however its just a matter of getting accustom to it.
I picked up one last night from a local shop. The posts I saw on DP are right, just went down the Nikon Authorized dealer list emailing them until I got a response with why YES I have one, and it was MSRP not over, and came with XQD card and reader. Turned out to be less than 45 minutes away from me. Now to actually use it!!
