A hit-and-run troll, perhaps?
He's new, and probably young. Give him time to figure out the customs in this place... Not all of us arrived here having spent significant time in other Internet discussion fora or bulletin boards.

I actually forgot I made this thread.
No I don't really mean to troll, just having a bit of fun. Can't be too serious all the time but it's interesting to read all the talk from the various different forums I frequent.
Even some medium format guys are going crazy how the D800 is a game changer.
Do I take pride in it, yeah a little. I've been in love since I was a kid. Always saw great photographers shoot Nikon, so am I a fan boy, you bet you.
Do I hold anything really against Canon people, not really. Nikon or Canon... it's almost the same. It's flip, flop, ying/yang.

Me (as a Canon shooter) Canon would make my head explode in bringing out a 5D III with ISO 25k native in 5d 2s ISO 6.800 IQ at 18MP, 2 CF-card slots, great AF, 250.000 shutter releases at with the new 24-70 as an IS version as kit for about € 3.500. That would make me loosing my head (ok, that is not equal to "exploding").
What would me make changing to Nikon would be a D700 like body at 18-24 MP and actual IQ, 5D MK IIs price and lenses at 70-200/300 4.0-5.6 L IS and , 24-105 4.0 L IS quality level and price.

My vote would be for the 5D3 with the same AF as the 5D2 or the Nikkor 24-70 gets VR. I think if either happened there would be a lot of people willing to go through the (financial) pain of switching. I personally always feel like I'm stuck in the middle because I prefer Canon glass and Nikon bodies.

And what will happen to Nikonist's heads if alongside of 5D3 Canon will release an FF Rebel for under 1K$
Totally plausible since Canon's cropped bodies have just about topped out on 7D and 3Ti, nowhere really else to grow besides small improvements in FPS/AF-speed departments. On today's super-saturated markets, buyers will need some serious convincing from Canon to reach out for wallets and another 18mp T4i with +1fps + 3 focus points over the T3i doesn't sound like one.
