I thought in one of the threads (that I apparently cannot find anymore) it was said that feb 7th were the body and lens announcements from canon?
Well it's the 9th and the only things i am seeing is people bitching about the 24-70, the 5d2, and getting a chubby on the d800.
So, where are the body announcements? I thought eosfun said to prepare to be let down by the announcement, but I haven't even heard anything! Unless that's the let down?
Yes. But that announcement was just a rumor that turned out to be some lenses only. It was already rerumored ( nice word) before, that next body will be announced end of february (28th as far I remember).

So 19 more days of minor chaos on the forum. Awesome.

[sarcasm]But Ralph, if it was a rumor wouldn't that make it definitive!? I mean, I'd be pretty upset, enough to start a [useless]thread[/useless] about it, if a rumor didn't pan out![/sarcasm]

My guess... Too late to redesign the camera so Canon is revising the production plan and updating the logo of this new camera(what was leaked earlier) to 4.25 Dx. Assuming Nikon does not come out with a 18MP D700 Mark II between now and Feb 30th, we might see that 4.25 Dx by Feb. 30th! Else, we may see a 4 Dx or 3.75 Dx or 3 Dx, etc...
Come on Canon, just release something so I can pick up a 5D II for under $1000. I am just looking for a manual focus FF camera with good details at ISO 100.

Sorry, I thought the "rumor" from "credible sources", was the dudes who handled it and seen the lenses but signed the non-disclosure agreements.
My apologies.
Robbie!
A rumor from "credible sources" sounds like ISO 200k without any noise.
The only credible scource I know is my dealer. And he askes me, to get informed about actual rumors.

"Canon bring forward the presentation of it’s new 5D mark X to counteract the announcement of the Nikon D800. In the Canon offices are aware of the risk involved of delaying the waiting of his followers. This could mean that many of them will stare at the new product from Nikon, and more than one, because they can not stand the wait, had just acquired the new D800.
We hope that Canon confirm this news in a few days."
YES! That is what I would call a reliable source ...
