As a gift from a friend both the photography & album design are just fine .. but I wonder about the quality of the book itself, if it is able to stand up to the test of time? I imagine you spent a good amount of time & effort shooting on the wedding day, then processing the photos, and then designing the album .. so don't your achievements be presented in a book that already has a peeling binding even before it's delivered.
AsukaBook offers a great quality basic product at reasonable prices if you decide to reprint.

David
You need to get your business going and pursue things.
You are one of the people that actually can make it. You have the photography base down and now you need to go legit.
Heck I do not care if you don't want to shoot weddings or whatever but at least you can get real albums....
Just saying.
You're good.

You guys bring up some good points. I did end up sending an e-mail to them.
Doug, you are far too kind to me, bro. I actually really liked doing the couple weddings that I've done. The thought of going legit just never crossed my mind, 'cuz it's always been for friends or family and stuff like that. I have no idea what all is involved, but I guess there's this neat tool called the google that can help me figure it out ;-)

Hi all, I'm not meaning to bump my own thread, but I did want to say that the folks at Adorama emailed me and gave me a call today and were super nice. They agreed that some of the problems listed above were not their normal quality and are sending me a new book. So, for customer service, they get an A+.

Hi David. I've purchased a number of books from AdoramaPix and I've made some similar observations (like the ridges on the inside covers) but overall I really like their product.
My take on their books is that they are the best you can get in that price range. The color and quality of the pages is superb and as good as or better than books that I've paid three times as much for.
The only issues I've had with their books have been related to the cover. I tend not to put photos on the inside front and back covers because of the ridge. Or I keep my content to the center of the page to avoid having that dip on anything important. I've also had dings on my corners, though they came about as the result of being dropped. I found that using a light colored cover helped a lot. Ultimately the paper inside is white, so white dings really show on a black cover, but are practically invisible on a white or ivory one.
Since the book you got was damaged in transit, you should definitely speak to them about a replacement. But as a tip in the future, if you drop the book yourself a dark marker makes a great spot-fix for dings on a dark cover!
