I went with Speedotron because there is a rental place a few miles from me. I picked up an 805 pack and 4 heads used for under $900.00 this pack has a lot of out put options. Great for wedding and portraits. It also works with the Vagabond battery pack. If I need more power I would rent a 4803cx they are amazing pack you can go from 300w to 2400w all in the same pack. I only rented one once then purchased one used. It's nice to have 4800w at your finger tips just in case. You can use just about any light modifiers on them. Speedotron is built like a tank and last for ever. The only disadvantage is they have a learning curve, it takes a few shoots to understand output options, they are also heavy but that’s what an assistance is for.

I'm just saving up to go Broncolor. Ultimate adjustability and precision at your fingertips. They hands down have the most advanced packs available on the market.

Peter, where you are, cab drivers like their Mercedes for sure when they could get away with a Peugeot diesel 4cylinders minivan.
A good Broncolor set well picked allows for a tremendous amount of options, between packs, heads and accessories. Same way a Mercedes is more comfy, last long and happens to be where many cab drivers prefer to spend their 12 hours+ work days when they could get away with a Fiat. Hope you don't mind cab drivers who drive big Mercedes.
