Alex, that is true, it doesn't allow JrX. I don't think that's his most important requirement. I think thats just something else he's looking for. At least from reading it, it seemed that way. In which case, Pixel King is what he needs. But Pixel King has its drawback: you cannot have on camera flash and still have off camera flash because with its current design it only allows you to mount the trigger through the hot shoe.
Now the Poppers, they work flawlessly! I had some issues, I admit it, but I found out it was because of the fact that I had my trigger attached to the on camera flash and it was causing the interference. So that problem is solved and the Poppers work flawlessly.
I use the Poppers mostly during my wedding because it gives me quick access to changer the output of the OCF.
my guess is that he doesn't really "Need" HSS. Most people who think they "Need" HSS actually need an ND filter (and preferably a stronger flash) hence my suggestion of the Einstein solution.
At one time I had actually contemplated going the Einstein solution route, but I already have 3 580ex2's with me, and I do enjoy the portability they give me on shoots where I need to move around alot to different locations.
You are spot on for the reason for needing the HSS, which is simply so I can use wider apertures for more creative control of my images. My reason for making this post was to find the trigger that would allow me the easiest method of maximizing this portability and ease of use (being able to change the power levels via camera etc) while seeing if there are any alternatives to RP/PW. Im okay with paying the money for those, but if there was anything out there just as reliable and you guys had experience, I wanted to check into that.
But you are saying that I will not be able to use the actual camera to change the settings while using radiopoppers, but instead the flash itself?
if I wasnt on more of a budget for this, id go that route (the einstein one), and I very well may still go down that route eventually.
When it comes to the ND filters, do you just use a filter holder and use one large sized filter for all of your lenses? Or multiple different sized filters for the various sizes? I have 3 or 4 77mm filters myself (not ND) since they work well with the lenses I use, but I see some just invest in one of those "one size fits all" type deal, which Im sure would be alot easier.

Hey bro, sorry I missed the Einstein post. I'd also like to nominate 2 flash u nits in replace of that. HSS/TTL = Q flash but HSS/TTL is not needed then Quadra baby! Lighter than the Einstein and very portable.
I have 77mm filters as well. Never tried a filter holder, I only use ND and Polarizer filters anyway so I'm not invested in a big arsenal there... besides I typically shoot witht he hood on which I would imagine would not work well with the filter holder dealio

Never tried/seen Quadra... nor do I know how they compare to Einstein setup in terms of cost etc.

ND's and poppers. the PW's have issues with canon. Yes, they fixed it, no it still has problems
I presume u mean RP JRx ... Hence the ND .
That's actually a great plan, much cheaper than PX, and if JRx reported reliability concerns are solved this could be a great option 4 the op. JRx are VERY easy to use
