That was two years ago. At that time it was my plan to start with low-dollar lenses and work my way up - thus that policy then. I went step by step in these steps: <$25 lenses (about 150 lenses), <$100 lenses (about 100 lenses), <$500 lenses (about 100 lenses), and currently I'm at about the <$1k mark (with 5 lenses so far). This Lanthar is a slight exception tho. Hey, policies are made to be broken!

I had huge expectations for the CV125 that's probably what spoiled it for me.
Somehow it just isn't up to scratch - too soft and front focusing (native EOS mount - no adaptation).
On the other side, I didn't expect anything from Sigma 150 and it blew me away from the very first moment, so did the Macro-Elmarit APO 100/2.8...
When I first got my first CV 125 EOS mount and used it on my 5D classic I managed to get a few good shots but not a lot, but enough to keep it. Once I got the 5D MKII and used live view for focusing I was blown away with how well my copy performed.
Yes, I wrote initially that lens front focused, which I corrected in the later post
And you are most likely right - any lens with AF confirm missed on all my cameras - 350D, 20D and now 5D.
you absolutely will not be able to trust the cameras focus confirm on a lens like that wide open.
Yes......and that's why, as my eyesight slowly and continuously back focuses , I drifted away from OVF's to EVF's with the opportunity for magnified view.
Bob, very nice shots of CV35.
Question: Does it exhibit onion ring in Bokeh? My 1.2 VI has it. It slightly bother me. I heard it is because of ASH element used.
