Been to Canal St? My wife buys a Burberry, Coach or Prada bag every time she goes to nyc for herself or our daughter or 1 for each. No need to travel abroad to find them, however, we did find some in a market in Jerusalem.
Fwiw, I really like my spider. The spider, unlike my wife's handbags, is the real deal.
I bought the spider, think it is a great product, like the stuff from Wimberley, Kirk etc. Yes it is pricey but it not just the manufacturing cost you are paying for but the development costs etc.
If you buy ripped off stuff, and then complain when somebody does it to your photography business.

How does that have anything to do with how much I've traveled?? Which I have a fair bit, btw. Nothing you said contradicts anything I said, was it supposed to?
Brett, it was a comment towards this comment:
"I wonder if they'd actually be able to remove or destroy the tooling from the current factory?"
Basically, if it's not possible for huge companies, it would surely not going to happen with this small company.
I wanted a spider holster for awhile now but can't justify paying $125 to try it out.
I ordered one from Amazon (link above) about a week ago. Arrived last night. Tried it out around house. It is pretty nice for $52. All are solid machined and polished. The buckle has a locking mechanism when you need two hands to un-buckly it...nice feature. I'm going to add another safety feature to the buckle just to be sure. One of the surface to mount the pin was not flat...so a fine pitch file took care of that one. I'm going to try this at a wedding in two weeks and see.

How's the product from your wedding? Just want to see how it handles the daily grind of a wedding event.
works great...just what I wanted. Still have to get used to it.
Good:
Buckle has a built-in safely lock where you need to press the safety button before the buckle will un-buckle. However, I will add a velcro strap the buckle for the added protection.
No back strain from a full day shooting.
Built like a tank.
Attachment point to tripod mount is 1/4-20. Tap holes for pin is M3. Why? Don't know.
Bad:
I did dropped my camera on the street...totally my fault. Bent the flash foot on the camera. Luckily I fixed it with my Leatherman tool. Tested at the reception dinner and works just find. Lucked out! My fault... I did not completely snap the buckle together before slipping on the camera. Hence I will add another safety velcro strap just to my piece of mind. User error! But a serious error.
The camera does stick out from your body so you have to watch it when you are moving around quickly. The Black Rapid (which I have been using) allows you to swing the camera behind you when you are moving around quickly.
Conclusion:
If you want to try a Spider Holster type but don't want to pay $140 for it, NEEWER, is the one to use. It is totally worth it at $60. I'm planning on using NEEWER and Black Rapid together. NEEWER will be primary camera setup with 17-35 lens. Black Rapid will have telephoto setup at 85mm or longer. I think I can do this all day and all night.
Thanks for your review! been using dual rapid strap and I wanna see how this compares to it. I also use cotton carrier on the side, works fin but I think the spider one are better. Thanks!

Glad the NEEWER version is working well for you! I didn't want to be the guinea pig on it, so i ended up buying the Spider (single camera) holster. The safety feature with the belt is exactly the same with the Spider. I also bought a Black Rapid RS-4 and plan to use them together as well - works well since i only use 2 bodies for the ceremony for the most part.

I'm looking at doing the same thing--rolling with a single BR and adding single Spider when I need to carry two bodies.

Make sure the safety feature click...don't want you to have a mini heart attack like I did. It does getting used to but I like it.
