Sure thing ... too bad you won't be up here a little sooner while the Ansel Adams exhibit is still here.
Earliest we can leave Texas is after March 15.. Have a daughter getting married.. After that we are on the road to Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Then Missouri.. I'll contact you when we get near.. Jim
Not sure if congrats of condolences are in order @ daughter getting married. I've got three and when my 1st one got married it was 'bittersweet' as it was good for her getting on with her life, yet I miss my 'friend' ... Oh, wth ... congratulations.

Totally true.
And you feel the quality for hours and hours into a long wedding and start dreaming of a Nikon V1 for your aching shoulders and hands.
Thank you.. I realize all 1D series cameras are heavy, and I am willing to bear the burden..
I had 1D MkII and traded up to 1D M4kIV- its a worthwhile upgrade. One reason I did so was because a significant contest was no longer accepting 8MB submissions. I also have the 1 Ds MkII and because of my alts decided to purchase the 5D II. Mixed feelings - but with live-view I no longer have focus problems.
For me the next step is probably to sell the 1D Mk IV and 1Ds MII for the 1DX. (I'll wait for the consumer reviews first). For me, with exception of losing f/8 AF, that will be the first body that meets the needs of fast action and landscape.

I think you are correct.. I probably can not afford a 1Dx initially, but I am contemplating the 1DIV price could drop some.. I love my 1Ds II but would like live view for manual focus.. The eyes aren't getting any younger.. Thank you..

traded my 1ds2 for a 5d2, mixed feelings so far. It was the most perfect body I owned.
Id say now to keep what you have, and get some glass!!
This appears to be our plan as of this point in time.. Thank you..
