Since I have an NEX-5, an NEX-5N, and a Snapshot-Skopar 25/4 (LTM), I thought it might be interesting to check the colorshift with the same lens on both cameras. The results were as one might have predicted. Similar methodology as other posters:
* Aperture priority
* f/8
* ISO 200 (NEX-5 doesn’t have ISO 100)
* Infinity focus
* Shot through white semi-opaque plastic
* Exposure compensation of +2 EV (NEX-5N) and +1.7 EV (NEX-5) to yield matching luminance at approx center of each frame (~87%).
To be honest, I’m surprised at how much the Snapshot-Skopar vignettes at f/8 on a cropped sensor, although it doesn’t seem to have a negative impact on actual pictures made with the NEX-5N.

FYI, it seems that the 5 and 5N have slightly different raw tone curves. If you expose them similarly, but boost the brightness of the 5 in your raw converter, it should get you pretty close to the 5N, rather than using different exposures. Still, I don't think it would have changed your results much.
What I'd really like to see is a similar test with the new Zeiss 24/1.8. I've seen a couple of people mention color shift with that lens, but I want to see proof.

Well, I have a Zeiss 24/1.8 on order. The retailer called me last week to say that Sony Australia has promised deliveries on January 3. I’m torn between the 24/1.8 and the ZM 25/2.8 and the fact that there are so many conflicting opinions on each of those lenses doesn’t make it an easy choice.
I quite like some of the images that I’m now seeing from the 24/1.8 and having AF would be nice (I’m only using alt lenses on my NEX cameras); plus the 24/1.8 will probably play nicer on the NEX-7, given that so many people say the ZM25 corners are weak even on the NEX-5N. But I love the results I’ve seen from the ZM25+NEX-5N combo and I rarely photograph anything further than 3 meters away (I’m a people and still life rather than a landscape shooter) so perhaps the slightly weak corners won’t be relevant for my use.
If I do get the 24/1.8, I'll run the test again, this time using your tone curve tip.
