Several scans and crops here, plus a comparison to the Coolscan 8000 at the very bottom:

Also the rebate has increased - new scanners now selling for $1800.

And the usual test from filmscanner.info, but only available in German for now:

No offense to the manufacturer in question, but I think I can get that quality from my Epson v700...

Yes, that's probably right. Looking at the sample scan, I can clearly see that my Nikon 8000 blow this scanner away producing significantly better, higher effective resolution and sharpness.

I stand by my earlier comment that if the Nikon 9000 (or even 8000) scanner were still available, there is no way they would be able to charge $1940 for this scanner and unimpressive results it produces. You can find a used Nikon 8000 for less than the price of this scanner and you would be much better off.

I am also very surprised because the Reflecta Proscan 7200 I'm using is also much sharper than that, and dare I say, sharper than the coolscan 5000.

Maybe we'll start to see a $500 rebate soon. I am very interested to see what Plustek has in store next year.

If I see any more comparison sites, I'll post them here.

The samples in this review show the Primefilm 120 to be sharper than the 8000ed. What worries me is the shadow banding. Yeah, a bit pricey for these results......however it's still cheaper than sending to almost any lab. I'd like to see a review from another photographer.

Not in my experience. The scans I get from my 8000ED are significantly better and sharper (which are just as sharp as those from the 9000ED) than the samples shown in both tests.

prime 120 is said to be between epson 750 and nikon 9000.

2. plustek is about to launch a primefilm 120 called filmscanner. primefilm 120 identical to prime 120?

for the latter a better holder is in the make for 3 image-stripes.

If the holder cannot be pushed throught the scanner its useless for us panoramists. I already discussed this with plustek a decade ago or longer.
we discussed also the option of 70mm wide sensor.

if not panoramisti who else are the future buyers of this scanner? crazy if they do not listen to us.
maybe epson will do better.
see kodak rs 3570-vertically mounted holder, panorama-stripes are no problem.
