It was an extrapolation based on the fact that this guy is not a pro reviewer, a sponsored "Pentaxian," or affiliated with the company in any way. As far as I can tell he's just a dude who bought one. Ergo, others must be able to as well.
I think it looks dumb, but there's no accounting for taste. I think I'd prefer something in the "Titanium M9" mold, rather than the "Maybach paint job" mold.
That said, I love the machine underneath. It's one of the few $10,000 cameras that I find both desireable and somewhat accessible.
I'd suspect he's done a lot of processing, and used a lot of on-camera effects (GND filter, etc), but you can't fake optical quality with post-processing.
But then again, he was using a prototype/early version of this lens, obviously. It could be better or worse at this point.
