Nope, no HDR. Just picked the camera up before I went overseas with the family. Shot a lot from the hip with preset focus, at 4 or 5.6, auto iso, min shutter speed set at 125 I think. The others are just snapshots that I like.
Before I bought the camera I thought I'd like the fixed 35mm equivalent focal length but was not absolutely sure. It turned out to be a great travel camera (and I've tried various P&S, the GF1, and also my big Nikons).
It misses focus sometimes, but you just have to know how to use it to improve on that - a lot is user(my) error. For street shooting (never done it before) it seems just super, and silent. I got tons of shots of the kids, most they never knew. when they finally picked it up, I got the moniker from my 15yo ("Stalker").

Thank you. Keep the images coming as it's inspiring me to get out in this awful heat down here to find something to shoot rather than sitting inside the A/C
I think I'll sell mine. Can't stand the miserable AF in low light. It misses 9 times out of 10. I also can't stand that I'm not allowed to use exposure compensation with manual mode and auto-ISO (which would alter ISO), since the camera wants to overexpose every single scene at least 2/3 stop. So I you have to dig deep into the menues to use a different shutter speed when the light goes lower, or set ISO manually.
Cathy Adams: 2 and 3 are my fave.
honorerdieu: neat shot
Makten: Noooo, don't go.
One reason I love the camera is its portability and relative inexpensiveness. I would never take my 1D and Zeiss glass out on a canoe and dangle it over the edge, 4 inchs from the water. It expands the situations under which I can get shots.

Do you think maybe you have a bad X100? I have had no issues with my exposures but have only had it 2 weeks. Extremely bright sun mid day here and every time I had it out both then and in the evening I had no issues.

I find my x100 also overexposes by a 1/2 stop or so in strong(ish) light. I leave the EC on -1/3 most of the time. If there's not enough contrast in the area where I set focus, forget it. But how often do I need to focus on something completely black (or white)? Not too often.
bigkidneys: was that with the on camera flash? I have not use mine yet but if that is, damn, that looks pretty good.
Martin: I don't have the exposure issue but I do find its hard to focus in low light. I think its an issue of expecting too much out of the camera when compared to pro dSLRs. If you turn on the focus assist lamp and your subject is in a reasonable range it normally locks focus the first attempt.

It was. I converted in Silver Efex 2 to try to dial it back some which worked great compared to the original file. I also have the EF20 flash but have yet to take it out the box.
