When I joined fredmiranda.com in 2005, I never looked back and honestly believe that Fred's efficient management of the site plus the diplomacy, maturity, and knowledge base that pervades across all forums and its members sustained this site to where it is right now.

Wow, what a pleasure to read this thread and vicariously enjoy FM's humble beginnings!
Fred, how about the ability to search older posts by user...it would be fun to follow contributions on a user basis to see how people have, er, matured!
Greg
You can already do that by using the "Search" feature at the top of the page.

Tony, I think Fred has archived posts older than a certain threshold (not sure whether it's time or quantity).
You have 32181 posts but only a paltry 2229 are available (the oldest one from Nov 17, 2009) via the search feature. So...FM readers can only access posts from a mature imagemaster!

Strange, since I can bring up my 2004 postings:
My bad...I was searching the "current site", and did not realize there were dropdown options back to 2002. Now looking forward to reviewing 29952 posts. ~Greg
As a French, I went to a French photo forum some years ago. Alas it was more and more difficult to have civilized discussions. And the website became slower and slower, with so poor ergonomics and moderators I wouldn't talk about to stay polite.
Then I discovered fredmiranda.com (I remember it was with lenses reviews). In the beginning, I was a bit reluctant to be a member of the forum. Because of the native language barriers. But I really enjoyed the discussions I read (of course, there were some fights too, but much less than in the French forum). And moreover, the website was so good : fast, pleasant with unique features that ease the end-users.
Finally, I've managed in breaking my shyness and in spite of speaking English like a French cow (please, let the Spanish cows quiet!), now I spend my spare time here.
From time to time, I have a walk (not with a zimmer frame!) to other US/UK forums. I even returned a bit to the French forum. But I always end my virtual journey here.
"Un grand Bravo" to you Fred, and see ya in 12 years, same place!
