You have the right attitude - for sure ! I live at the top of a hill in KY. and spent all day Sunday sweeping water out of my basement. Tennessee got hammered a lot worse than we did. I feel your pain and I hope all goes well for you and yours.
Sorry to see this. Having gone through the floods of 2008 here in Iowa, I sort of know how you're feeling. Many people here are still recovering from that disaster. Except I don't know exactly how you're feeling, because my own home is on high ground and I didn't suffer any personal loss.
I'm still trying to get in touch with my brother. When I talked to him a week ago, he had just moved into a place with a back porch overlooking the Cumberland River. Not sure how high up, and he hasn't returned any of my calls, texts, or emails. I'd be worried except that is pretty much par for the course for him.
I lived in Goodlettsville and worked in downtown Nashville for a number of years. I saw the flooding on the news last night. Never, ever in my lifetime did I think I'd ever see downtown Nashville flooded. Never thought I'd see a tornado hit downtown Nashville either.
Thanks guys. Lot's of people have it worse than I do. I have power back on, the internet and two computers still working. Only lost my windows machine. Which I foolishly had placed on the wrong table. It started floating and the box fell off into the water. I'm giving it several days to dry. Maybe it still has life.
Hey, I'm up in Clarksville, and our riverfront is flooded up and lots of businesses ruined, Luckily my home was spared...all the pictures that I've been seeing of downtown Nashville, Opry Mills and Opryland Hotel just kill me, I've spent so much time in Nashville during my 18 years of living. Hope everything clears up for everyone on here that was affected..
