p.1 #1 · Domke F-1X or F2?

I've expanded my gear so am looking for a new bag to carry it all in. I've been looking into either the F-1X or F2. I wanted to know which one would fit my gear, would they both?

I'm looking to carry, 5DII gripped, 24-70L, 35L, 85L, 135L and maybe a 70-200. All of this along with the hoods. Would it fit in either of the bags? I'm leaning towards the F2 rugged wear but aren't sure if it will fit all my gear, especially with the hoods.

Thanks.

I don't think you can carry that many equipments with the F2, especially with hoods. You might be able to do it with the J1, but it will be very heavy for a shoulder bag.

I think you should try the backpack if you want to carry that many things

I already have a backpack for lugging equipment around and traveling, but it's not the most accessible when shooting. I do realize it would be pretty damned heavy though.

Check out cambags.com to compare the F-1X to the F-2:

Also, this compares the J-1 to F-2:

BTW, I've got a J-1 for sale here, which will hold all the gear you mentioned:

Until this week, I was using an F2 to carry my:

- gripped D700 with L-bracket
- SB-900 speedlight + stand, diffuser & gel kit
- 70-200/2.8 VR
- 28-70/2.8
- 17-35/2.8
- 50/1.4
- 1.4x teleconverter, cable release, SU-800 wireless flash commander, off-camera TTL cord, WPF-1 flash bracket, L-bracket for un-gripped D700, batteries, memory card wallet, screw-in filters, hex wrenches, etc.

I found I could fit all this in the F2 except for my lens hoods. I received my new F-1x and a 1-compartment insert this week, and I can now take my hoods with me.

The gripped body won't fit in the 1-compartment insert, but the hoods will.
