p.1 #1 · Best lenscoat, replacement foot & front cap for Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM Lens
For previous EF big whites I usually buy Lenscoat branded covers, really right stuff replacement feet & Don Zeck Lens Caps. But that was a few years back. I just ordered the Canon RF 800mm f/5.6 L IS USM Lens and should receive it next week. What are the best options now? Can I just reuse my old RRS foot from the EF 600mm f/4 lens? Is it long enough? I see there is a new brand of covers called ROLANPRO Lens Cover - any good? And I don't see any RF lenses listed on Don Zeck's site. Will it fit the C5? Thanks in advance!

Try Huganature, much better than Lenscoat. RF800 is basically a slightly longer RF400, so the lens foot of your EF600 is at least as long if not longer.

For ROLANPRO either eBay or Amazon. I can't remember where I got mine. If they don't already have a cover for the RF 800/5.6, they may be interested in developing one. So I would reach out.

I haven't looked at Zemlin. I wonder if the EF 800 version will fit the RF 800. I'll try to reach out to them.

Love the Zemlin lens cap on my RF600mm F4 it's on my lens at all times. Had a Zeck but never used it. A lens capr for the 800mm should be available. Wasn't real impressed with the Rolanpro lens cover either. Went back to a lenscoat..

Thanks guys! I decided to stick with Lenscoat - I've never had an issue with them. The Polish lens covers looked tempting but they don't have a set for the RF 800 yet. I might try them for another RF big white in the future.
I'm going to try to reuse my RRS foot from my EF 600mm II/III and see how it goes.
I've only used Don Zeck lens caps and I believe I have a C5 from my EF 400 III so I'll see if that fits my RF 800 5.6 if so I'll buy Zemlin front caps and hood covers. I did some reading and they really sound like the best. Thanks for the suggestion! I reached out to Zemlin about the RF 800 5.6 and they said they hadn't tested it but I could buy a set and send it back in a month if it didn't fit. So I figure if the C5 fits it'll be likely the Zemlin will work to and be worth the upgrade!

What didn't you like about the RolanPro ? I just bought a LenCoat for my EF 600mm and the RolanPro section for the tripod collar looks like a much better design.
I never found a company website for RolanPro which was a concern.

I have a Zemlin hood and lens cap for both my RF 400f2.8 and RF 600 f4, and they are fantastic. I believe the RF 800 f5.6 is the RF 400 f2.8 with a custom 2x TC so the 400 cap should fit perfectly

Just ordered the Canon RF 800/5.6 Zemlin cap. Karl Zemlin confirmed that one of his customers tried it on the Canon RF 800/5.6 and it fit perfectly!
Just need to decide on a Zemlin hood. Any pointers which might be best for a Canon RF 800/5.6 hood?
Thinking probably a longer single piece hood. I just moved to Rancho Cordova, CA so I'll be shooting in the central valley, the Sierra Nevada's and into NV desert mainly. It's going to be 112F today! That doesn't seem to be short hood shooting territory. 800/5.6 just arrived so testing will be necessary.

Karl makes a 2 piece hood so you can get a 1/2 size which is great for travel and shooting wildlife from your vehicle. Then a second piece which gives you the full size. They are light, lock on with a positive click. The original Canon hoods have never been on my lenses.
