p.1 #2 · Compression vs Lossless Compression vs No Compression
No compression for me. I typically don't shoot hundreds of images when I'm out so a single memory card holds my uncompressed images. Hard disks are cheap these days so the extra space for the uncompressed images doesn't really matter.

In the Sony world, except for the A1, the choices are "lossy" compression or no compression. Many people have been after Sony to incorporate "lossless" compression in a firmware update for a long time with no results.
Fuji, Nikon, and Canon all have successfully implemented lossless compression. While it is true that hard drive space is relatively cheap in historical terms, a waste is still a waste. I have a friend who says he can tell the difference between uncompressed and lossless compressed Fuji GFX100 files but most cannot. Those lossless compressed 100MP Fuji files are actually smaller than the uncompressed files from my Sony A7RIV!
I choose to use Sony uncompressed files because the Sony compression loses data. And I'm not about to spend all that time and money on gear and travel only to lose data because I'm too cheap to buy a larger hard drive.

No compression out of the A7R3, although I covert to DNG when I import into LR. Not sure if converting to DNG is still a recommended thing to do or not though...

I shoot losses compressed on Nikon and will do the same with the a1

Not seeing this on the Canon board but I shoot full size raw or jpeg on Canon. I'd be interested in shooting C-raw.
Canon RAW has compression. People say it's lossless, idk. IDK about Sony but I'd think Sony raw is compressed? If it's not as big as a tiff. I'd think that you lose something if it's compressed. Though maybe very little. I suppose completely uncompressed is tiff, and I'm not interested in the large file sizes at this time. So I'm not interested in completely uncompressed I suppose.

I'm sure you know this, so not quite understanding this comment. A tiff will have RGB for every pixel, while the raw just has R or G or B, so raw files smaller than tiff.
p.1 #10 · Compression vs Lossless Compression vs No Compression
Lossy compressed for fast action where max fps or max buffer performance is important. Lossless compressed for all else. See absolutely no point in using uncompressed, just a waste of space.
