p.1 #1 · Expected shutter count in NEW camera (lumix g9)
Hello all
Just got a new Lumix g9. Out of the box just for curiosity I checked the shutter count and power on count and to my surprise it stated 70 and 14 respectively. Is this normal? I try contacting Panasonic directly but agents don’t know what im talking about. Whats the expected shutter count in a brand new body out of the box? If any
About the same as my G9 had. They are all tested prior to leaving factory as far as I understand and it's well bellow what I've seen some other cameras that have been brand new. The shutter is tested for 100k+ so it won't wear out any time soon

Go shoot with the camera and stop worrying about that amount of shutter count.
Do you expect a new car has zero miles on it?
I have bought numerous cameras items from several bigbrand name online stores. Several lenses and 1 body had to be returned due to signs of being previously used. Ex: lint/dust in lenses. Finger prints on front and rear elements etc. Most retailers when a customer returns an item within the return time they just put it up again on the shelf to be sell as “new”. And thats the reason I am more concerned and curious now when I buy new gear. I was just wondering if its normal to have some shutter count out of the box and about what range. This is my second body and the first body I bought last year didn’t check for it since I had not experienced the situation mentioned above yet.

Then don't worry about the shutter count, and just determine if the camera looks like 'good enough new condition' for you to find acceptable.
As already pointed out by others, it is normal to have a 'low' number of actuations on a new camera.
If you had ever purchased new film cameras, you had zero knowledge of any shutter count.
