It's the second time I bought this lens.
First I thought the 85 1.8 was as good, but this is more a sportslens with the faster AF.
Finally I discovered the better colours, contrast, microcontrast.
The f1.2 is a light-sucker and dreamy bokehlicious lens 
Won't re-sell it anymore.
People say the Sigma 85 1.4 is as good as the 85LII (fast AF)
But as focussing problems appear now and then I don't thrust the Sigma. Only if it was the 85 1.4 Art but doesn't exist yet

This was my first prime ever, I bought it for the f1.4 and took the first dslr newborn shots of my daughter with it.
Later I discovered it wasn't sharp wide open, only from f2.2 so I have unsharp memories in my album 
After discovering this I immediately sold it.
A friend bought the better Sigma 50 1.4
But if you have the cash, directly buy the Sigma 50 1.4 Art, top IQ + razorfast AF!

Good for half body modelshots, but buy the newer Sigma 50 1.4 Art instead, the Sigma is sharp wide open, no focus shift, best deal!!! Canon should stop producing this one and start an enhanced 50 1.2LII.

I bought this lens 3 years ago, it's one of Canon's 'golden three primes'. It still delivers, but got a bit outdated as Sigma's 35 1.4 Art is better as everyone read or tested allready.
I replaced this 35L with the Sigma 35 Art, this one has less CA and is sharper and cheaper.
For me no 24-70 zooms anymore, I like to be able to go to f1.4 for the great bokeh/isolation.
This lens is a perfect allround/walkaround lens, especially for a persone in connection with the background. For example a doctor with his practice, model in a store,... to see more background.
And 35mm has way less distortion than 24L's.
Don't doubt, just go for the newer Sigma 35 1.4 Art if you haven't paid allready

Compact little fisheye out of production, it's good but the Sigma 15 2.8 is better, I had them both and used them for partyphotography (in fact the only lens I used for this).
It's a good lens but if you can still chose, go for the Sigma 15 2.8.

This lens is a hidden gem, it's not for sale anymore but it delivers! If you are lucky you can still find a copy on Ebay.
It's extremely sharper than my previous Canon 17-40L & 16-35 2.8L II corner to corner at only a fraction of the price!
Tokina is an underestimated professional brand with superb value, they should produce more and start a bigger market strategy!!!
Their second best uwa prime is the Tokina 16-28 f2.8, but this one has some disadvantages (althought optical also sharp corner to corner), it's flare sensitive, extremely heavy and accepts no filters.
Man, this compact prime here is a joy to use and what a price, Canon's 17-40's, 16-35's are really embarrased here, they should stop selling them!
