Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM

Review Date: Oct 10, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $320.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: I have 5 'L' lenses(had the 85 1.2L also), The quality of this is on par(with all and better than!) some of the 'L's. I use this for indoor volleyball on my 20D at ISO 1600, and the pictures are absolutely fantastic!!!! Enough said!
Cons:
I don't see any.

Simply outstanding! Fast(large aperture) and Fast(focus). A must for all indoor sport activities. Also gorgeous for portraits. Very sharp at 1.8 I always use this at 1.8 for indoor sports. Pictures are tack sharp. Sharper wide open than many 'L's. Infact sharper than ,most if not ALL 'L' zooms that I have used.

Pros: Nice build, Excellent quality, Fast Maximum aperture throughout the range.
Cons:
I couldn't find any.

I use this for walkaround, landscape and portrait work. A beatifull lens. If you get a chance to buy one of these beauties, do so. I've seen reviews that the lens is soft...My copy is very good. I use it stopped down most of the time for my purposes, and haven't done much "testing" wide open. The few shots I tried wide open were very good.

Review Date: Aug 11, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,150.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Excellent build, Fast, Beautifull image quality
Cons:
Weight, but we all know that

I have had two copies of this lens. I bought the first one from B&H, but decided to sell it because I was taken aback with its weight. I've never owned a bin lens before and it was too much. I sold that lens on the forum, but started having withdrawls since the day I shipped it out. It was an exceptional copy to boot. So I bought another copy from a forum member, which also turned out to be a very good copy. I'd never sell this lens. Even if I do not use it everyday, it is so versatile.

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

Review Date: Feb 13, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $579.00 | Rating: 8

Pros: Good range on the 20D, Decent images, Super IS!
Cons:
A little loose, too long(physical size) @ 300mm

A nice lens functionally. Could have been built more robustly for the price. Nice sharp images though.
