Pros: This lens is great for situations where you only brought one/two lenses and some wildlife appears. Put the lens on a rest--bean bag or tripod--and shoot with confidence.
Cons:
Feels somewhat cheap, compared to white lenses of this type. This lens is not a substutute for Canon's supertelephotos.

This lens is not for everyone. It is a slow lens and relying on IS to make your pictures sharp, will be hit and miss at best. When this is on a tripod, MLU, and cable release it will take wonderful sharp photos. Likewise, shooting with lots of light will also help with your number of keepers. Shooting in shade/low light and handheld is a recipe for iffy sharpness. Just put it on a tripopd or rest and your sharpness will be comparable to L glass.
