This is an awesome lens. I use it mostly for Macro photography.
I used it for portrait before i got my 85mmL f1.2. This make a nice portrait lens too, but it's no way near the 85mm. hehe
The only problem i had with the lens was the AF which isn't that fast... i usually find myself using MF especially in dim light..
But overall this is a great lens. It worth every penny.
And it is unbelievable for the price.
If you are not sure to buy it I'd say go for it.
I've also got the Kenko extension tube for it...
