Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM

Review Date: Nov 30, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,000.00 | Rating: 8

Pros: Fast, accurate, sharp

Great on a full frame as a fast wide angle. Not so useful on a crop. When I want be able to shoot in low light in tighter spaces it comes in very handy. Mine is very usable wide open, fast accurate auto focus. Great color and contrast. Even wide open the bokeh is not as nice as you would expect from a 1.4.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM

Review Date: Nov 30, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Sharpness, fast autofocus
New style lens hood.

Just received this lens fro canon to assess and I am very impressed. As a full time wedding photographer I have used the Mark I extensively for years. As impressive as the original was, the Mark II far outshines it. The Mark II is much sharper wide open, with better color and contrast. It focuses much better at a distance than the original model and best of all, Canon has made it more compact and lighter without sacrificing build quality. The only con is the new style lens hood as it no longer covers and protects the telescoping portion of the lens.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

Review Date: Nov 30, 2014 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,800.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Fast autofocus, build quality, amazing IS,

This is the most amazing lens I have ever owned! As a full time wedding photographer I use this lens more than any other. Sharp wide open, great contrast and color. Focus rarely misses and is fast even in low light situations. The most incredible aspect of this lens is the IS. I don't have the steadiest of hands and I can hand hold this lens at 200mm and get tack sharp images at 1/30th. Hard to believe? Try it yourself, this is a simply incredible lens. Even at over $2,000 it is worth every penny!
