This lens holds it's value I made the mistake by selling it but I bought it back. I miss this lens. Still around $1100-$1200 used with the new 24-70 L mark 2 on the market.

full frame, hefty metal body, great image quality, ISO 50 for silky smooth photos.

Crappy LCD Screen compared to todays cameras, slow buffer, slow frames per second. Only 9 focus points. Slighty slower AF than todays cameras. Center focus point is the strongest thus outer focus points are weaker not making for sharpest subject.

I just love the images that come out of this camera. I got this used for $550 and I am glad I did. I finally can say I upgraded to full frame. The only Real complaint is the LCD screen and wish for more focus points. I always trust using the centre focus point anyways to ensure subject is in focus. I am not a sports photographer so I don't care about frames per second and the AF is fast enough for what I shoot. I like that I can use ISO 50 and rarely shoot in the dark so no need for the highest ISO. I mostly used flash and strobes.

Expensive for non L glass, Ok build, not L glass build, not for full frame.

Was really impressed with this lens, the image quality is near L glass quality, fast, sharp and colourful images. Probably the best non L glass out there, other than primes. It's great for crop sensors 17-55 is like 27-88.

Amazing creamy smooth bokeh, sharpness, colour, contrast. 99% of the shots are sharp and in focus. Way too expensive and need to get use to the weight. Because it's too expensive I returned the lens and stuck with my 70-200 L f/4.

Hood useless at longer focal lengths. Zoom ring at the front of the lens. 82mm filter size makes for expensive filters. Resale value does not hold like Canon L lenses.

This lens rivals the new Canon 24-70 mark 2 in almost every aspect. Except it offers VC and is cheaper than the Canon. This lens does not disappoint, image quality is almost as good as the Canon 24-70 mk2 but the difference is very minor. I am photographer who cares more about creativity while image quality is important, I am not one of these who fusses over minor technical details about image quality.
I love Canon L glass, they are the Gucci of camera lenses, I have the 70-200 L f/4 but I am not going to spend $2000 for the new Canon 24-70 (with no IS) when Tamron can save me $600 or $700. That said if money was no object, I would opt for the Canon 24-70 mk2.
The thing that annoys me most about the Tamron 24-70 is the zoom ring at the front of the lens. It takes getting use to, but it's difficult to zoom when using it with an Alien Bees ring flash.
