I have owned the Canon 1D Mark II, still own the Canon 1D Mark III and the 1Ds Mark III.
This camera is the best 1D series camera I have ever owned.
Could write an entire essay but the camera speaks for itself.

Great quality. Very lightweight, image quality is superb.

Cons:

None. If I am you, I would ignore all the negative aspects of this lens posted here. This lens doesn't fail.

I own many L lenses, they include the ef 500mm f/4L IS, ef 400mm f/5.6L and ef 300mm f/2.8L IS. This lens is right up there when it come to quality.
I can write an entire essay but the lens does the talking. Get one and enjoy it
It doesn't deserve to be rated less than 10.

|
Cons:

Wish it was a little lighter. Other than that no issues.

I bought this lens back in 2010 and thought it was time to add a review. I own many L Lenses but this one stands out.
The Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM is truly amazing.
I use it for sports and wildlife and the image quality of photographs taken with this lens is superb.
My Canon ef 1.4X extender is always attached to this lens and produces fast and great photographs.
Works great hand held as well as on a monopod or tripod. I use it always on a tripod.
You will not be disappointed with this lens.

Canon EOS Rebel XTi (400D)

Price paid: $900.00
| Rating: 4
|
Pros:
|
Price, Anti Dust feature, large LCD
|
Cons:
|
I have gone through 4 XTI's and every one of them had under exposure. I went back to my 350D or Rebel XT. I contacted Canon about the under exposure. They acknowledge the issue but had no solution.
|
|
I would not recommend an XTI until Canon has a software patch to deal with the under exposure issue. The is a huge difference between the Rebel Xt and XTI picture quality. The same difference is found between the 20D and the XTI. For that reason I went back to my 350D as a back up camera for my 20D

Price paid: $1,500.00

Pros:
|
8.2megapixel, 5fps, AF speed and price/performance ratio. Good build quality
|
Cons:
|
Shutter noisy
|
|
I have had this camera now for 6 months and I love it. Pictures are sharp. This is an excellent camera for the money. My only problem is the shutter noise. I use an Canon XT as a back uo camera and that shutter is much quieter.
