Not sure if my previous post was successful. Here it is again.
A cheap lens, good enough for professional use. A must in every bag. I bought this lens for an assignment and the customer and myself were very happy with the results. If you want great quality on a budget this is the way to go.

I bought this lens recently and used it for an assignment. The images came out just fine and the customer was very happy. There are better image quality lenses, but not by much. For the price this lens is great and it is good enough for professional work. I am very happy with my copy. I am sure there are some bad copies out there, luckily I do not have one of them.

Does not handle the 1.4 tc as good as I hoped. It hunts a little with it attached and the images is considirable softer.

I have given this lens a 10/10. For a zoom lens it is extremely sharp wide open and at the far end. I was worried about all the mixed reviews I read, but I can honestly say this lens is worth it and I strongly recommend it. I rivals fixed focal lenses. I owned the Canon 500mm f4 IS and the 200-400 comes very close.
Coupled with my D3 this lens is super fast and versatile. I use the 1.4 tc with this lens and have managed to get real sharp images. It slowes down with it attached and I find the focus hunts from time to time, but for a zoom lens this is as good as it gets.
The Canon 100-400mm f4 IS can not come close to this lens no matter what people say. I owned the 100-400mm lens and I would not rate it as a professional lens. There is a reason the 200-400mm cost so much more, it is so much better.

Not sure if my previous review has gone through, but here goes again.
If it was not for this lens I probably would have defected to Nikon by now.
This lens is sharp, fast, light enough to do handheld photography. All I need is an upgrade to the 5d to join up with it -I returned two 1d mk111's.
I can not recommend this lens any higher.

I have had this lens for about two years now and I can not recomment it more. I have developed long lens technique and I only do handheld photography. Previously I use to lug my tripod around and missed countless great wildlife shots. One day I forgot to take my tripod on a cloudy day and managed to get great handheld shots at ISO 400 and and shutterspeeds as low as 300.
This lens is the reason I have not jumped ship to Nikon.
