Nikon 85mm AF-S NIKKOR f/1.8G

Review Date: Mar 15, 2013 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: IQ, light weight, 1.8.
Cons:
Slow AF

Really, the only "complaint" I have for this lens is its perceived slow AF, compared to the afd version. Image quality is great. Nice contrast and colors. Sharp.

Nikon 70-200mm f/4G ED VR AF-S Nikkor

Review Date: Mar 9, 2013 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: fast, quiet focusing, close focusing of 0.9m, IQ. LIGHT for travel/entended use
Cons:
tripod collar not included at the price

This lens is excellent even wide open. Focusing is fast and quiet. IQ is a given. It is built very substantial without the weight of its 2.8 cousin. So, unless you need that extra stop...

Review Date: Mar 9, 2013 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 10

Pros: Compact, sharp, fast AF (on D700/D300), recessed front element
Cons:
cheap rear lens cap

For the money nothing beats this nifty-fifty. Its AF is actually a little faster than the AF-S twins (1.4G and 1.8G).

Review Date: Mar 4, 2013 Recommend? yes | Price paid: Not Indicated | Rating: 9

Pros: Great color rendering, very sharp, close focus, f/1.8.
Cons:
Wished Nikon would've cut the length by an inch and made it more compact.

Review Date: Jul 25, 2005 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $700.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: quality built, focal range, sharpness
Cons:
distortion

It's a great lens. My only complaint is the visible distortion. Not for architecture shots.
