Looking at my pros and cons list above, you may wonder how I justify such a high score. The reason is because the positives so vastly outway the negatives, that this lens is a masterpiece.
I use this lens professionally for a wide variety of photography, but primarily portraiture. The 85mm length, combines with f/1.2 depth of field make it ideal for low light portraiture, or for situations in which you need to isolate the subject from it's background.
This lens is heavy, and is slow to autofocus. It also makes my camera feel unbalanced because of it's short, heavy size. The camera feels front heavy.
Nothing, however, takes away from the sheer optical quality of the lens. If you are a Canon professional or hobbyist who has the cash - this lens is must have lens in your bag.
