Canon EOS 40D

Pros: - colors - low shutter lag / high fps - ai servo capabilities - small but impressive files - it's nearly impossible to kill one
Cons:
- the display is either too large or have too few pixels on it

It's an remarkable camera. It has everything you need from stills camera, high framerate, great IQ, fast autofocus, good battery life, sturdy built, all important connections and even live-view. With modern editing software it's stellar, files are super-easy to work with and in good light the colors it produces are more pleasing than modern cameras (60D, 7D, 6D, 5D3). It's really cheap, so it means you don't need to worry about it, which makes it perfect camera for difficult terrain or tough tasks, like timelapses. Did i mentioned good battery life? It can easily shoot like 2000 photos with ai servo or like 500-600 4 sec exposures at one cheap chinese battery. One of the best deals in dslr market IMO.

Pros: - awesome raw files - exceptional battery life (up to 5000 shots with manual lens) - wifi functionality
Cons:
autofocus system (olny centre point is usuable, servo mode sucks)

After nearly four years of use i need to say it's stellar. Working with files from it is always a joy, you can do anything you want with them. The body is lightweight, sturdy, can take some beating with no problems, does it's job quite well. It's an excellent camera for slow type of shootings (though you can easily shoot anything even with manual lenses). Came from 5D2 and it's better in every aspect, it's even better than 5D3 in terms of IQ and MF.
