Pros:
Sharp, great colour and contrast and fast focussing

Not light but then what fast zoom is
Perfect lens for DX and with the advent of the D7k there is no need to go FX, for me anyhow

Pros:

IQ +++, ease of use+++, light weight+++.
Cons:
Slightly on the small side for my hands but have gotten use to that very quickly
for years I lusted for a D700 and brought one. I then had the opportunity to use a friends D7k and discovered there was nothing that the 700 did for me that I could do with the 7000.
With the 7k being so much lighter, and cheaper for me it was a no brainer>
I will never regret buying this camera

Pros:

Tack sharp and beautiful backgrounds. Perfect length for shooting small children on a crop sensor. Allows one to frame tight without crowding them. Love it

Cons:
Sort of ruins one for using zooms:)

wish I could afford a D200

My initial entry into world of digital. If budget allowed would swap for D200 but am amazed at its capabilities. Have graduated to shooting in RAW using Bibble 4.9 and am getting A4 at exhibition quality. it has spent more miles than I care to remember in the back of toyota landcruisers on roads that dont deserve the name and it just keeps on shooting. I have had it for 6000 + frames and two years and despite its lack of sealing goes out in light rain and dust. lots of dust. Amazing value at the time with traditional Nikon toughness.
