ProMediaGear Katana (full version)

Review Date: Jun 2, 2018 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $940.00 | Rating: 8

Pros: Wonderfull design Topnotch materials and craftsmanship Sturdiest gimball I ever used Rubberized comfortable knobs RVS bearings
Cons:
If you really want to tight it down it will creep Itís a heavy big gimball built like a tank and made for the real heavyweight lenses.

I used a Wimberley first version (lost) and a Jobu (stolen) before I purchased the PMG Katana
It is a wonderfull piece of equipment with no play and it renders the lens and camera absolutely weightless
Movement is so smooth one could use it for video
Highly recommended!!

Gitzo GT5543LS

Review Date: Jun 2, 2018 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,250.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: Sturdy even at eyelevel Super damping and stiffness High payload The most rigid tripod Gitzo manufactures Wide spider providing a stable platform for a ballhead or gimball Systematic accepts all kind of accessoiries with safety builtin G-locks will (dis) engage in half a turn All kind of accessories
Cons:
Itís heavy not so easy to take with you on long hikes

I bought this tripod years ago and I use it with the PMG Katana for a 600 prime and TCís under all sorts of weather and conditions
A wipe clean after use and a periodic lube and clean suffices to keep it in good condition.
Itís my third and last tripod I Ďll ever buy
