Excellent image quality and build quality. Affordable. Excellent for landscapes.
I've been using mine on a Canon 5D (MkI) for almost 2 years, and I have no intention of selling it or trade it for anything else.
Corners can be a bit soft when used at 17mm and f/4, but I forgive her

Not good enough for a full-frame camera.

I bought this lens for my 5D (MkI), but only kept it for a month.
The center of this lens is sharp and I liked the 2.8 aperture, but the corners were awful: very very soft and lots of vignetting. This lens is really not good enough for a full-frame camera. I have some friends who use it on APS-C cameras with satisfactory results.
I sold mine and bought the Canon 17-40L, which I still keep today.

Lots an lots of them!

Cons:

Only 3 fps (not that it matters to me...); Not weather sealed

I've been using mine for over 2 years. Never had a problem. Never cleaned the sensor, although there are a few spots, but can be easily removed in PS.
Still a wonderful piece of equipment, even now, 3 years after it was released.
A good advice: buy only Canon L lens. This camera deserves only the best glass available.

I bought this lens after reading other people's reviews here and, in general, I agree with everything that's been said about it.
It's a great lens for closeups. I bought it mainly for photographing nature closeups and handicraft, and it's been great. I use it on a Canon 5D.
