Pros:
|
Excellent image quality. Much better than the current crop of 3-5mp consumer cameras. Very low noise level. Good color reproduction. Great entry level DSLR. Accepts a wide array of lenses and accessories. Low price.

Cons:

Low light, low contrast focusing can be a problem.

I tried my hand at digital photography with a 4mp consumer camera and was dissapointed in the image quality and noise levels. I have moved up to the D30 and have not looked back. I bought mine used and have been very happy. With the prices dropping like stones to a level equal to or below the top of the line consumer cameras you can't go wrong.
It is only 3mp and the current crop of 6mp and above DSLR cameras show more detail. But it gives much better image quality than a 5mp consumer camera. A 9x13 print looks quite good.
It is highly adjustable and easy to use. I really can't say enough about it.
