Well, not really.
It is a two piece hood. There is a very thin frame that tapes down to the camera. The frame has a piece of protective glass. You can take the hood off by sliding it about 1/8 inch to the side. It works well and holds it securely.
I find that I would rather bend down and to look into the hood when shooting off angle, rather than removing it.
You would swear that OLY made this item. My camera is silver, and the hood is a decent match in color.
