I suppose it\'s the same white nylon of larger shoot-through umbrellas, and like them it disperse some light. According to the seller a 1.5/2 stop.
Actually for macro it\'s not at all a problem, because you\'re very near to the subject. With Strobella I usually shoot in the range 1/4th - 1/16th of my 580EXII output, but I have it wired to the camera, and not on the hotshoe, so I get nearer and choose the angle of lightning.
