Well, more than the hardware\'s ability to render the image, I was noticing the composition and the way the color of the dress (along with the selective focus enabled by the hardware) helped draw our attention to the subject (in addition to her loveliness).
Then you went on to make your point about the location of the focus point nudging the composition away from what you would like to shoot - point well taken, it happens to me often - although sometimes I need to keep the AF point plastered on the subject (e.g., young child) in AI servo mode as she persists in constant motion. Your subject here is a bit more serene than my usual subjects...
