I got the 28/2.8 AIS today! I\'ve only tried for a few wide open shots in the dark, but the results are very very good. It seems as sharp as the 24-70, but has lower distortion. Almost none! Color and contrast is superb, and counterlight doesn\'t seem to be a problem. I\'d say this lens is better wide open than the 35/1.4 @ f/2.8.
