There is another aspect which s overlooked; the S2 is a technology platform which will feed the development of the R10,which I predict will be a 24 Mp compact DSLR,
which will also take old R lenses with focus confirmation, and it will be the driving force for the M9 as well. I predict an 18 Mp 1.3 crop sensor there, but maybe with IR filtering.
