I like a system that offers choices, but also one that I like using. At the moment, Sony offers the most native choices, but I don't like using Sony cameras.
I hope that the other FF systems will ultimately consist of top-notch large superior lenses and excellent general-use lenses that I'd actually carry with me all day long. Neither Canon nor Nikon are there yet, but I'm sure they get there some day.
In the meantime, I use Leica and third-party lenses as well as MFT gear for my travel and general needs and I reserve my too-large-but-excellent Canon lenses for planned work where I don't mind carrying it to a location.
I also have a ton of adapters, so I can use old Olympus lenses and my M-mount lenses on FF cameras.
I think one of the disconnects here has to do with the agee, and maturity of the different camera systems. Nikon and Canon are have been in the camera business much much longer that Sony, so people often default to thinking that they should have the most mature system. However, Sony has been in the mirrorless camera system business much longer than Nikon and Canon. If viewed that way, we must allow time for Nikon and Canon to flush out their mirrorless system. We have seem this take place with Nikon's mirrorless sensors, and its AF performance to the point of parity in some segments already. I am sure over the next few years we will also see parity in in other areas such as form factor, and selection.
Those Nikon loyalists who waited for the Z9/8 cameras were well rewarded. I think in the end that will be true across the whole Z line.
